A Dream Fulfilled: Two Cutting-Edge Scientific Labs Open at Amal High School in Yanuch-Jat

In a powerful testament to the resilience and determination of the Amal Educational Network, two new scientific labs were inaugurated today at Amal Yanuch-Jat High School, serving students from two Druze villages in Israel’s north. Despite the ongoing conflict, with the region enduring rocket and drone attacks, the school has remained steadfast in its mission to provide education and inspire excellence.

The new facilities—a research physics lab for high school students and a science lab for middle school students—offer innovative learning spaces designed to open doors to the fascinating world of science and discovery. The labs were launched during a moving ceremony attended by Amal’s Director General, Karen Tal, and the Head of Pedagogy, Batya Katz. Karen Tal addressed the audience, emphasizing the unyielding spirit behind this achievement: “Even when a siren sounded as we traveled here, we knew we had to press on—because this is our ultimate response. Science, values, and human development go hand in hand.”

The event, held under challenging security conditions, was attended by key leaders, including Wahib Saif, Head of Yanuch-Jat Council; Nadi

m Bibar, Head of the Education Department; Dr. Nasrin Faraj, Coordinator of Upper Secondary Education in the Druze and Circassian Sectors; and representativ

es from the local and educational community. Together , they celebrated this milestone, underscoring the importance of collaboration in making

dreams a reality. Wahib Saif expressed his pride, saying, “Our students are a source of inspiration, and I can already envision them thriving in these new labs and shaping the future.” Parents’ Association Chair, Sakr Khbake, shared,

“This is a dream come true for us as parents—to see our children exposed to the world of science from a young age.” The project is a result of a remarkable partnership between the Amal Educational Network, the Akharat Center, the local council, and civil society. This collaboration exemplifies the power of working together to create transformative opportunities for students.
