Karen Tal is one of Israel’s most renowned educators. She entered her position as CEO in August 2022 determined to make a difference in Israel’s future generation through education. In her previous position where she served for a decade, she founded “Insights in Education”, an non-profit organization that promotes schools in Israel’s periphery, believing that schools should be seen as a central anchor in students’ lives – both from an educational standpoint and also from social, emotional and community related aspects.

Prior to that, she served as the Executive Director of the Bialik Rogozin Campus in the South of Tel Aviv – a school attended by students who originate from 50 different nationalities whose parents are wither refugees or migrant workers. Karen entered the school when it was about to close down due to mismanagement and thanks to her vision, persistance and dedication led it to win the prestigious national education prize, changing the regulatory status of its students and their relationship to both education and the state of Israel. Karen holds two degrees in education from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is proud to lead Amal and is determined to apply an holistic model to the Amal community and turn Amal to Israel’s leading education provider.
