2024 – A Year of Strategic Progress and Visionary Leadership

As we welcome the year 2025, Amal Educational Network reflects on the year that passed, marking breakthroughs in many areas, guided by its commitment to four goals: improving pedagogical achievements; strengthening the connection between schools and their communities under the guiding principle that “a school builds a community that builds a society”; fostering a deeper understanding of citizenship in a Jewish, democratic and diverse society; and enhancing literacy in technology and the sciences to prepare students for careers in an ever-changing digital world.

Under the strategic guidance of its executive board, Amal has taken bold steps to integrate its vision of a state-democratic, scientific-technological educational network into everyday organizational practices. It kick strated initiatives aimed at strengthening the skills of school principals and managed to foster collaborations across educational teams. This should lead to higher matriculation rates, which are already going up. Programs for mathematics and civic education teachers have been expanded, reinforcing the commitment to professional growth and academic success. Amal has also embraced its identity as a state-democratic network, implementing initiatives that promote social equality, mutual respect, and shared society values.

The network will go on prioritizing cultural understanding through the teaching of spoken Arabic to Jewish students and Hebrew to Arab students. Amal started cutting-edge programs in artificial intelligence and technological literacy which were integrated into the curriculum, equipping students with 21st-century skills. New innovation centers, including one in Jerusalem, are now operational, creating hubs of creativity and entrepreneurship.

The holistic school model, emphasizing community building, has been rolled out across several schools, with plans for broader implementation in the coming years. The crowd funding campaign, first of its kind across the networl was launched in the Yigal Alon school in Ramla

. The campaign reached out to the entire Ramla community asking their support in buildiing a much needed sport complex for the memory of one of its fallen graduates on October 7th 2023. This approach strengthens the bond between schools, communities, and the broader society.

Amal’s leadership has focused on organizational excellence, introducing streamlined processes and fostering collaboration across departments. Despite the war that brought many challenges, such as resource constraints, distant learning and community in trauma, the network has maintained its momentum, proving its resilience and adaptability. Through these efforts, the Amal Educational Network has demonstrated its unwavering dedication to transforming education in Israel. The network’s leaders continue to inspire hope for a more inclusive, democratic, and innovative future. Stay tuned for more updates as Amal continues its mission to rebuild Israel through education. May the year ahead will bring all hostages back home and see the end of a very long war.
