Amal Network Launches “PAI” Initiative: Integrating AI Pedagogy Across Schools
Today, the Amal Educational Network took a groundbreaking step in education by launching “PAI” — Pedagogical Artificial Intelligence, an innovative training program that brings AI literacy to school principals across its network. The program, which aims to merge cutting-edge technology with school leadership, reflects Amal’s commitment to improving educational outcomes, fostering a holistic approach to school management, and embedding state-democratic values through technology.
At the core of the training were Amal’s five essential pedagogical pillars: independent learning, collaborative learning, values-based education, applied learning, and personalized instruction. These pillars, central to Amal’s educational philosophy, are now being connected to AI to create ethical, practical, and customized learning experiences for students. Throughout the training, principals explored how AI could not only enhance these principles but also open new pathways for engaging students and encouraging critical thinking.
The PAI program began by providing school leaders with a solid foundation in AI concepts, focusing on practical applications in an educational setting. From there, Amal experts, including Itai Rosenfeld, Dr. Mor Tal, and the network’s technopedagogical advisor, Dr. Dov Weiss, led in-depth discussions on both the opportunities and challenges AI presents. Together, they highlighted the importance of a responsible, ethical approach to integrating AI, aiming to instill in principals a critical perspective on AI’s role in shaping modern learning environments.
As the training progressed, principals gained hands-on experience with a range of AI tools. They learned the art of crafting effective prompts, experimented with AI-based visual aids, and developed lesson plans and assessment materials that harness AI for specific subjects. Each session was designed to offer principals not only the knowledge but the skills to bring AI directly into the classroom, ultimately enhancing the educational experience for students across diverse disciplines.
The training also introduced principals to Amal’s broader AI integration plan. In the coming months, the network will develop a digital work platform to support technopedagogical coordinators and faculty, offering a wealth of resources including a curated content library, practical tools, continuous feedback loops, a product repository, and technical support for independent learning. This platform is expected to create a collaborative, dynamic environment for educators as they learn to incorporate AI into their teaching.
Scheduled for completion in April 2025, the PAI program marks a pivotal step toward Amal’s vision of empowering students with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate an AI-driven world. Through this initiative, Amal is not only preparing students for the future but also setting a new standard for how AI can transform education in Israel and beyond
