Amal Network Launches “PAI” Initiative: Integrating AI Pedagogy Across Schools
Today, Amal Network introduced a groundbreaking training program for school principals focused on AI in education, branded as “PAI” — Pedagogical Artificial Intelligence. This initiative aligns with Amal’s core mission of continuous improvement in educational outcomes, fostering a holistic school management model, and embedding state-democratic values with innovative technology and AI literacy.
The training outlined the network’s five pedagogical pillars: independent learning, collaborative learning, values-based education, applied learning, and personalized education. Through these, Amal aims to harness AI to support customized, ethical, and practical educational experiences.
Training Goals
The primary goals of the PAI training were:
- Foundational AI Knowledge in Education: To provide principals with a basic understanding of AI and its applications in education, particularly focusing on Amal’s PAI framework.
- Cultivating a Critical and Ethical Approach: Encouraging a thoughtful, ethical perspective on AI in education, helping participants to recognize both opportunities and challenges in AI-enhanced learning environments.
- Deepening Understanding of Amal’s Pedagogical Strategy: Principals learned to integrate AI within Amal’s strategic pillars — personalization, independent and collaborative learning, applied knowledge, and values-based education.
- Developing Practical AI Skills: Participants gained hands-on experience with various AI tools for teaching, learning, and assessment, including creating effective prompts and using AI-based visual aids.
- Real-World Application in Lesson Planning: Practical sessions enabled principals to develop lesson plans, learning materials, and assessment activities incorporating AI tools for their specific subject areas.
During the training, Amal’s experts — Itai Rosenfeld, Dr. Mor Tal, and Dr. Dov Weiss, the network’s technopedagogical advisor — presented implementation strategies for integrating AI pedagogy across Amal schools. The program will focus on faculty training, preparing technopedagogical coordinators, and developing a digital AI-supported work platform. This environment will include tailored content, tools for practicing and applying new skills, continuous feedback and evaluation, a product repository, and technical support for asynchronous learning.
Looking ahead, the initial phase of training is set for completion by April 2025, marking a major step toward Amal’s vision of empowering students with the skills and knowledge to thrive in an AI-driven world.
