Walking Together, Building Belonging – Amal Tech-In Hits the Trail
The student hiking squad from Amal Tech-In High School recently set out on a 20-kilometer journey through the Ben Shemen Forest, finishing near Latrun. But this was much more than a hike—it was an educational journey aimed at building teamwork, responsibility, and a deep sense of belonging. Step by step, the students discovered that some of the most meaningful lessons happen not in a classroom, but in motion—through shared effort, challenge, and experience.
This initiative reflects the vision of a dedicated educational team that believes true learning comes through meaningful encounters, resilience, and human connection.
The journey was led in partnership with Derech Kfar (“The Village Way”), an Israeli educational institute rooted in the belief that it takes a village to raise a child. The organization works primarily with educators of teens from Israel’s geographic and socio-economic periphery, supporting a values-based educational approach focused on connection, mutual responsibility, and social impact. We are grateful to Derech Kfar and to the Amal Tech-In staff—educators who are unafraid to go the distance, both in vision and on the ground.
Amal Educational Network is proud to nurture students’ sense of identity, community, and leadership—on the path to a stronger, more inclusive Israeli society.
