Amal Mourns Graduate Aviv Maor z”l

Amal Educational Network bows its head in deep sorrow following the horrific murder of our graduate, Aviv Maor z”l, a beloved alumna of Amal Emek Harod High School. Aviv, only 19 years old, was stabbed to death while simply waiting at a bus stop near her home, in an attack that began with the terrorist killing of pensioner Shimshon Mordechai in Beit She’an and continued with a brutal stabbing that ended her young life.​

According to the security authorities, the terrorist was a 16‑year‑old Palestinian who was staying in Israel illegally with his family and embarked on a murderous rampage that shattered families and communities in the Emek region. The entire Amal family shares in the grief of Aviv’s parents, siblings, friends, teachers, and classmates, and embraces the community of Ein Harod at this unimaginably painful time.​

Aviv is Amal’s 52nd member of its community who has lost her life since October 7th 2023. She will be remembered by all who knew her as a bright, caring young woman whose future was full of promise. Amal Educational Network is committed to preserving her memory through our ongoing educational work, and to continuing to educate our students for responsibility, solidarity, and a more secure and humane future for Israeli society.
