How teachers are harnessing AI to democratize Israeli education
Amal Educational Network is proud to share growing international recognition of its pioneering PAI (Pedagogical AI) program, recently featured in the Jewish Telegraphic Agency and in other media outlets across the USA. The article highlights how Amal educators are harnessing artificial intelligence not merely as a technological tool, but as a transformative pedagogical approach that expands opportunity, strengthens critical thinking, and promotes more equitable learning environments across Israel’s diverse school communities. By embedding AI into teaching practices, Amal is helping ensure that innovation
serves democratic values and broad access to high-quality education.
This vision was brought to life last week at Amal’s second annual “PAI Day,” a network-wide showcase of schools participating in the program’s intensive training and advanced modules. Teachers and school leaders presented groundbreaking classroom applications, demonstrating how AI can personalize learning, enhance student engagement, and free educators to focus on deeper educational relationships. One particularly striking example—also noted by leading AI expert Dr. Roi Tzazana—was the development of an “artificial mentor”

that provides individualized support to each student, significantly expanding learning capacity while reinforcing the teacher’s central role. Reflecting on the event, Dr. Tzazana remarked that what he witnessed rivals innovation seen in top private education systems worldwide.
The event concluded with a celebration of excellence, recognizing outstanding educators whose work exemplifies the program’s impact across Amal’s national network—from Yanuh-Jat and Tayibe to Be’er Sheva, Hadera, and Safed. These achievements underscore that Amal is not only speaking about the future of education but actively building it: equipping teachers with advanced tools, aligning education with the realities of a rapidly evolving world, and ensuring that innovation strengthens both academic excellence and social equity.
The momentum reflected in both the JTA coverage and Amal’s own classrooms signals a clear direction—AI, when guided by strong pedagogical vision, can be a powerful force for meaningful and inclusive educational advancement.
