A Hall of Strength and Courage Inaugurated at Amal Alef in Petach Tikva
A deeply moving and meaningful moment took place this week at Amal Alef Multidisciplinary High School in Petach Tikva: the inauguration of a brand-new sports hall—“Olam HaOz VeHaGevurah”, the Hall of Strength and Courage, dedicated to the memory of the school’s fallen alumni who gave their lives in Israel’s wars.
The emotional ceremony brought together many pillars of the community: Petach Tikva Mayor Rami Greenberg, Amal Educational Network’s Director General, Karen Tal, the city’s Head of Education Dr. Yardena Hadad, school principal Miri Anani and, her teaching staff, current students, proud alumni, and bereaved families.
Principal Anani captured the moment beautifully, saying: “This hall symbolizes life, play, and energy—alongside the battles, grief, and loss we have lived with for years.”
The hall is more than a facility; it is a living tribute. Here, students will gather for sports lessons, enrichment activities, community events, and leadership programs. It is a space that honors the past while investing in the future. Mayor Greenberg praised the school and the Amal Network for their shared commitment to educational excellence built on values and heart. Karen Tal added, “In every generation, we must remember that nothing is to be taken for granted. We have an obligation—to ourselves and to our country—to live up to our full potential.”
Amal Alef Petach Tikva is one of the network’s most beloved and inspiring schools, known for embracing students from challenging backgrounds, many from immigrant families and disadvantaged communities, and helping them grow emotionally, academically, and socially. The school’s graduates are living proof of this success: value-driven young people who not only succeed but give back. Many helped establish a dedicated fund for current students from underprivileged families. This new hall is a gift of strength—to students who are learning that movement is healing, that teamwork builds confidence, and that sports are a path not only to fitness, but to leadership, discipline, and hope.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the school community for this remarkable achievement. Olam HaOz VeHaGevurah will stand as a lasting reminder of the values we hold dear—and of those who paid the ultimate price to protect them.
