After 40 Days at Home, Amal Students Return to Record-Breaking Results
After forty days of
learning from home during the Israel–US war against Iran, most Amal students returned to school today, following the announcement of a ceasefire yesterday. This latest conflict comes on top of more than two and a half years in which school life across Israel has been repeatedly interrupted by war and security crises, making the return to a regular school routine both urgent and emotionally complex. Despite differing opinions in Israeli society about sending students back to the classroom so soon after running in and out of shelters, without time to adjust to normality, Amal schools are focusing on rebuilding daily routines and providing emotional support to their diverse student communities.
Amal is especially proud to share an historic achievement at the Multidisciplinary Amal Ahd Hura School for Excellence, located in the Bedouin town of Hura in the Negev. The Winter 2025 matriculation results show that 100% of the school’s graduates are now eligible for a full Israeli matriculation certificate – a remarkable milestone in a sector that has too often been described as Israel’s “weakest link”. This unprecedented success reflects long-term excellence, strong educational leadership and persistent teamwork by teachers, coordinators, community partners and the Amal network, and it turns the Bedouin students of Hura into a powerful source of pride for all of Israel.
In addition, Amal has been recognized as the leading educational network in Israel in terms of its students’ English matriculation results. As the only national school network that brings together Jewish, Arab (Christian and Muslim), Bedouin and Druze students under one democratic, scientific and technological roof, Amal sees these achievements as proof that diverse classrooms can be engines of excellence and social mobility. For Amal’s friends and supporters around the world, these results send a clear message: even in times of prolonged war and uncertainty, your partnership helps our students not only to cope, but to excel.
