Amal Educational Network Launches Emergency Relief Fund Amid Ongoing War with Iran
As Israel faces a historic and existential war with Iran, missiles rain down on civilian population centers across the country in an unprecedented blitz. While Israeli pilots execute surgical strikes against strategic threats deep in Iranian territory, the Iranian regime has launched direct and indiscriminate attacks on Israel’s home front, targeting cities, schools, and communities. At this critical hour, we stand in awe of the courage and precision of the Israeli Air Force — and we draw strength from the unity and resilience of our nation.
At Amal, we are especially proud to recognize that among those supporting Israel’s defense efforts today are alumni of our very own Holtz Air Force Technical School in Tel Aviv. These graduates, who trained to become Air Force technicians during high school, are now playing essential roles in maintaining and equipping aircraft and supporting the heroic pilots carrying out critical missions. It is moments like these that show the long-term value and national importance of Amal’s unique educational model.
Back on the home front, Amal’s 50 schools — serving more than 30,000 Jewish, Arab, Druze, and Bedouin students — are scattered across Israel’s geographic and social periphery. These are some of the hardest-hit regions in the current wave of attacks. Our school principals are leading under fire — literally. With many teachers called up to reserve duty and government services struggling to keep up, our school leaders are opening their doors to the surrounding communities, transforming educational spaces into shelters and centers of support. They are responding with extraordinary dedication, but the needs on the ground are immense — and immediate.
In response, we are launching the Amal Emergency Relief Fund, designed to provide swift and targeted assistance to schools, educators, and families affected by the war. This Fund will help bridge the gap until national and municipal systems can fully respond. Among the urgent needs we are addressing:
- Purchasing computers and devices for distance learning
- Repairing school buildings damaged by rocket fire
- Providing mental health support for students and staff
- Awarding emergency scholarships to students from families in crisis
- Strengthening shelter infrastructure in exposed communities
- Ensuring schools have the resources to function as safe communal spaces during ongoing attacks
We invite our friends and supporters around the world to stand with us at this moment of great need. Any contribution, large or small, will make a difference in helping our schools continue to serve as beacons of stability, safety, and hope.
