Amal Launches first Conference for Civic and Community Leadership
The coming weeks will mark a volatile political period with the national elections fast approaching. Elections often intensify social fractures and strain public trust, highlighting the urgent necessity of cultivating civic responsibility and social cohesion from the ground up. In a reality where political rhetoric frequently divides communities, educational networks hold a unique position and imperative to serve as anchors of stability, shared values, and mutual respect.
Responding to these societal challenges, Amal Educational Network recently convened its first conference for partnership coordinators and community engagement leaders from across Israel. At the gathering, Amal’s Director General Karen Tal articulated the network’s holistic philosophy:“A school builds a community that builds a society”, emphasizing that schools must act as proactive agents shaping societal norms rather than passive reflections of them.
Building on this vision, Adv. Tamar Peled Amir, Deputy Director General and Head of R&D, Education, and Technology,
highlighted how community partnerships expand students’ horizons, reshaping their aspirations and opening new pathways for personal and professional growth across all 50 Amal schools.
Realizing this transformative vision of civic engagement, educational equity, and social cohesion requires sustained philanthropic partnership. By supporting Amal’s community-centered initiatives, coordinators network, and leadership programs across Jewish, Arab, Druze, and Bedouin communities, donors directly invest in democratic resilience and shared society. Strategic philanthropic funding empowers educators to bridge social divides, inspire young leaders, and build strong, connected communities that reflect the core democratic values essential to Israel’s future.
