Amal Network Marks Major Milestone in Matriculation Achievement
More than 60% of Amal’s schools have surpassed the 90% matriculation eligibility threshold, according to newly released data from Israel’s Ministry of Education. This achievement was welcomed with roars of happiness earlier today, as it reflects the concerted efforts that have been done by the entire Amal community. As one of Israel’s most diverse school networks, Amal serves students from a wide range of backgrounds, including youth at risk and communities in both the social and geographic periphery. Reaching this benchmark across such varied contexts underscores the network’s commitment to educational equity and excellence, especially in a period marked by significant national disruption.
Amal is one of approximately ten highschool networks in Israel, yet it is widely regarded as among the most complex and challenged due to the breadth of its student population. This latest accomplishment highlights the impact of sustained investment in students, teachers, and school leadership. Across the network, educational teams have continued to prioritize each student’s potential, combining innovation with persistence to ensure that learning continues, even under difficult and changing conditions.
Karen Tal, Director General of Amal, attributes the success to the dedication of the network’s teachers, principals, and regional managers. “Educational change is always gradual,” she noted, “but when it is guided by hope, civic values, and innovation, the possibilities are limitless.” For Amal, the figures represent more than a statistical milestone. They reflect thousands of young people stepping into the future with confidence, opportunity, and a strong foundation for continued growth.
