Friends of Amal USA Welcomes Guy Feder, the New Head of U.S. Development

Friends of Amal USA, the organization that supports the fund raising and development activities of Amal Educational Network is pleased to announce the appointment of Guy Feder as Head of U.S. Development, a new role created to deepen Amal’s partnerships and philanthropic activity in the United States. Drawing on a rich background as a music educator and cultural entrepreneur, Guy brings over two decades of experience in building communities, leading educational initiatives, and using culture as a bridge between people. His professional journey, rooted in belief in inclusion, dialogue, and opportunity for every student, aligns closely with Amal’s mission to rebuild Israeli society through innovative, values‑based education in a shared, democratic society.

Throughout his career, Guy has combined artistic excellence with a strong commitment to social impact and shared society. As a conductor and music educator, he has led projects that brought together diverse communities, created meaningful encounters between Jewish and Arab youth, and opened access to high‑quality cultural experiences for children and families across Israel.

In many ways, the transition from conducting orchestras and educational programs to “conducting” Amal’s development efforts abroad is a natural evolution: instead of bringing musicians and audiences together on one stage, Guy is now bringing schools, communities, and partners together around a shared vision for Israel’s future.

In his new role, based in Montclair, New Jersey, Guy will lead the development of Friends of Amal in the U.S., focusing on building a committed Friends board, cultivating major donors and philanthropic foundations, organizing strategic visits and speaking opportunities for Amal’s educational experts and spearheading the network’s 100th‑anniversary fundraising campaign.

Guy will work in close partnership with the board members of the organization in the USA, such as Israel Blum, The charity’s long time treasurer who is himself an Amal alumnus, and Yael Nathanel, Head of Resource Development based at Amal’s headquarters in Tel Aviv . Together, they will “co‑conduct” an ambitious philanthropic strategy designed to expand opportunity for Amal’s students, strengthen Jewish‑Arab partnership, and support schools and communities across Israel at this critical moment.
