Join Us in Honoring a Fallen graduate: A Call to Action for the Amal Community

The Amal School in Ramla has launched an inspiring initiative to honor the memory of Moshe-El Shlomo, a graduate who was tragically lost in the October 7th Hamas attack on Israel.

With just two weeks remaining in the crowdfunding campaign, we invite the Amal community to contribute and help bring this vision to life. Moshe-El Shlomo, a graduate of Amal A’ Yigal Alon High School, attended from 2006 to 2009, excelling in competitive athletics. In 2009, he joined the Paratroopers Brigade’s elite unit, later becoming a member of the prestigious Yamam counterterrorism unit. Over his career, Moshe-El participated in hundreds of covert operations, earning commendations for his bravery and dedication. On October 7, 2023, during Hamas’s attack, Moshe-El and his comrades heroically fought against dozens of terrorists at the Sha’ar HaNegev junction. Tragically, Moshe-El fell in battle, along with his brothers-in-arms, at just 32 years old.

To honor his memory and legacy, the school principal, Barak Friedman, and physical education teacher, Dotan Rothstein, initiated a project to transform the school’s neglected backyard into a vibrant sports center.

This initiative holds particular importance for Ramla, a community that faces significant socio-economic challenges. Many of its youth are at risk, and having a safe, engaging space to foster physical fitness, community building, and personal growth will make a transformative difference.

Although the campaign has not yet reached its goal of 300,000 NIS ($80,000), the school has already begun transforming the space. The “Moshe-El Team,” inspired by his life and values, has also been launched, empowering students to follow in his heroic footsteps through meaningful service and leadership.
